Their homes are thoughtfully designed to support the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of their tenants, ensuring independence and comfort. They are expanding rapidly and looking for a skilled Design Manager to join the team and drive their projects forward

ABOUT THE POSITION.

The Design Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing the design process for specialist disability accommodation projects. This role is the central link between the acquisition and delivery phases, responsible for managing consultants, approvals, and ensuring the design aligns with regulatory requirements and company standards

DUTIES.
  • Lead the design process from concept through to delivery, ensuring alignment with project requirements and budgets
  • Coordinate and manage external consultants, ensuring timely and quality delivery of design work
  • Oversee and manage the approvals process, ensuring compliance with NDIS and SDA regulations, including High Physical Support (HPS) and Fully Accessible (FA) standards
  • Review and mark design principles, providing feedback to ensure designs meet accessibility, functionality, and aesthetic goals
  • Act as the intermediary between acquisition and delivery teams, ensuring smooth project transitions
  • Problem-solve design challenges, with a focus on delivering practical and innovative solutions that enhance tenant experience.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE.
  • Relevant qualifications in Architecture, Design Management, Planning, or a related field
  • 5+ years' experience in a similar role, preferably with a focus on disability or healthcare projects
  • Strong knowledge of NDIS and SDA requirements, with experience managing approvals and compliance processes
  • Demonstrated experience in consultant management and coordinating design teams
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to drive projects and manage multiple stakeholders
  • Attention to detail, with a strong understanding of accessibility and design principles
