Our Client based in Sydney, is looking for an experienced Building & Compliance Officer to join the team. Reporting to the Compliance Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in protecting the safety of the community, by ensuring compliance with building and environmental regulations.
ABOUT THE POSITION.
This is an initial 3 month contract. You will actively perform business functions related to investigating and taking appropriate enforcement actions concerning compliance matters. The role requires you to work both autonomously and collaboratively, utilising your strong knowledge of relevant legislation.
DUTIES.
- Conduct investigations on compliance issues regarding breaches of relevant Local Government, planning and environmental legislations
- Prepare investigation reports
- Issue notices and orders, penalty infringements where appropriate
- Respond to customer requests in a timely and professional manner
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE.
- Qualification in Planning, Building Surveying, Environmental Health/Science or equivalent professional discipline
- Driver Licence
- Working knowledge of BCA and EPA
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
