ABOUT THE POSITION.
As a Senior Development Engineer, you will be accessing and providing technical advice on the engineering aspects of preliminary assessments and development proposals. You will also be providing high-level technical advice on water supply and sewer matters to both internal and external clients while also mentoring and supporting less experienced staff within the Development Engineering team.
DUTIES.
- Provide technical advice on engineering aspects of development proposals, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
- Oversee the approval process for water and sewer-related activities, including assessing demand, preparing engineering conditions, conducting inspections, and providing advice to the Development Assessment & Regulatory team.
- Conduct civil certification inspections for water and sewer applications within the local government context, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Contribute to the development of engineering policies and standards, and assist with training programs to foster professional development and improve team capacity and collaboration.
- Address customer service inquiries, enforce compliance with statutory requirements, and follow up on public complaints regarding civil engineering matters while promoting best practices and business improvement.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.
- Bachelor of Engineering (Civil/Environmental) or relevant qualification
- Experience in Water and Sewer projects required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Development Engineer, Project Engineer, or Design Engineer with DA experience.
- High level of attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills
